Cross-Country Soaring 2004

About the Author

I was born in Georgia (U.S.) in 1972.  Since 1976 I have lived in Alabama, where I went to school and got a bachelor’s degree in 1997 in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.  I have worked in the information technology and aerospace engineering fields.

I've always loved flying.  I’ve assembled and flown model airplanes, “played” flight simulation games on computers, and have flown (and taught others to fly) hang gliders and powered ultralights.  I have recently begun flying paragliders, too.  After flying hang gliders for 10+ years and flying various powered ultralights, soaring (a hang glider) is still my favorite pastime.

Some time in the 1980s my dad bought us kids our first computer, a Commodore 64K, and he bought me the current version of Microsoft Flight Simulator (version 2, I think).  I've owned other flight simulations, but I've always favored Microsoft's realism.  All this is what led me to create Cross-Country Soaring.

I hope you enjoy it.
